Bali is a paradise for your honeymoon or for the many who wish to celebrate a special occasion on the island.

Bali magically combines several aspects, such as beaches, mountains, rice field, as a place for a romantic stay:

The ideal location is a private Bali villa, perfect for a honeymoon, no noise, no loud sound, serenity in reality, only the sound of nature. Cool air to refresh your mind and body. Bali’s rich culture helps make your honeymoon, something unique, beautiful, fun and memorable, and an experience of a life that can not be gained elsewhere. Bali is a small island, but has a lot of wonderful things to offer.

Here are some handy tips for your honeymoon in Bali:
- Schedule your departure day two days after the wedding to ensure maximum honeymoon enjoyment after the activities and celebrations. If you must travel immediately, remember to leave in the middle of the day and not early in the morning so you can have a good night’s sleep.
- Never, ever overbook day trips, you’re not just being a tourist but have a new spouse, better save some ‘energy’ for the evening fireworks.
- Do not be afraid to ask questions, ask about certain benefits, events. – In addition to the above, do not be afraid to ask for things, like a big bed or a romantic package.
- Do not forget to bring your marriage certificate with you, especially if say the wife’s name is different to the husband’s name.
- Pack your camera and maybe a sexy book. You can also pack a disposable underwater camera and extra batteries, Sometimes you can’t find them when wanted.
- Mention to anyone, especially in restaurants or boat tours, you’re on your honeymoon, this may seem a little ‘embarrassing’, but some restaurants give extras like free drinks or gifts for newlyweds. This works also for birthday celebrants.
- Research and prepare for water sports, the tropics are a great place to learn, always remember to mutually agree what you want to do.
- Avoid sunburn that way you can enjoy the nights. The higher the SPF sun cream the better, since it is likely that you will spend a lot of time in the sun you do not want to burn or get skin cancer after just two weeks of marriage.
- Some travel agents recommend travel around the island as an excellent ways to explore and enjoy. This way you get a change in the landscape, and avoids getting bored, especially if you have a long honeymoon. However avoid too many changes in accommodation
- Keep items of value locked in your hotel room safe, or if you decide to take them with you, always watch out for stray pickpockets.
- Arrange with the Kembali office to have a daily massage in your villa.

Remember that the purpose of a honeymoon holiday is unforgettable romance.

The amusement park was established in 1957 and it was dedicated to all of the world’s children. To give you an idea how much things have changed since 1957 the admission on opening day was a low 19 cents! Santa’s Land was right off of Route 5 when it first opened, which was actually a major highway back then and went all the way from New Haven, Connecticut, to the border of Canada. Families all across New England loved Santa’s Land and it was managed by Poppele and his daughter for at least a decade.

On such a wintery day, I can’t help but daydream about my recent whirlwind trip to Ambergris Caye, a small island off the northeastern coast of Belize—a place so consistently warm that residents easily (and even somewhat wistfully) recall in detail the one day of the year they wore a sweater.

I was there to check out a hotel for T+L’s “40 Secret Beach Hideaways” (March 2010), and expected to spend most of my time stretched out on a white sand beach, piña colada in hand. The island, after all, is only 25 miles long and one mile wide. And while I did my fair share of reclining, I was surprised—and thrilled—to discover how many activities are available to the traveler.

Here’s my short list for how to best explore the island and its surroundings.STAY The six thatched-roof casitas at the beachfront Xanadu Island Resort,  consist of 19 one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites, each appointed with plush sofas, full kitchens, and private balconies

that look out on the Caribbean Sea. The small staff is both friendly and attentive. (San Pedro; 011-501/226-2814; $190)EAT Be sure to try the excellent huevos rancheros at Estel’s, an easy to miss, white-and-aqua breakfast spot with wooden tables, a chalkboard menu, and a sand floor that spills onto the beach. (501/226-2019; breakfast for two $20)

DO Arrange a three-hour snorkeling excursion with local guide Alfonse Graniel to Hol Chan—teeming with rainbow parrot fish, loggerhead turtles, and octopus, it’s the second largest barrier reef in the world. (San Pedro; 501/226-2814; from $25)DO On the mainland, check out Mayan ruins (the largest pyramid at Xunantunich or “Stone Woman” rises 130 feet above the plaza, pictured above) and then go cave tubing on a half- or full-day excursion with Ed’s Eco Tours. Along the way, the very knowledgeable Edward Allen points out rare bird (Jabiru stork) and plant species. (Belize City; 501/601-1982; from $150)

EAT There are several good dinner options in the main town of San Pedro, which has just three colorful main streets (aptly named Front, Middle, and Back), but I especially enjoyed the atmosphere at the open-air Hidden Treasure restaurant, set about five minutes south of town. With a bamboo fence, a dark wood walkway lined with torches, and a traditional menu (I had the seafoord ceviche, Butterfly lobster, and coconut pie), it’s the perfect ending to a full day. Just don’t forget bug spray!
